Limbo and Inside Coming to Nintendo Switch
Two of the puzzle-platformer games from recent years by developer Playdead are heading to Nintendo Switch later this month.
Two of the most popular yet underrated puzzle-platformer video games of recent times from Danish developer Playdead are Limbo (2010) and Inside (2016). After conquering every other major gaming platform like iOS, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, these titles are currently available on a few other devices as well. Now, the only place they needed to step on is Nintendo Switch and Playdead is bringing them on Nintendo's next gen console next week, on June 28.

Back in 2010, the developers released Limbo as a black-and-white 2D platformer through Xbox Live Arcade and it has managed to garner positive reviews despite lacking a minimal story background. Because of an impressive sales record, the game was then ported to literally every other modern gaming platform including Android, iOS, Linux and Mac. Then a seven years gap took in before Inside debuted on Xbox One exclusively a week before PC and fellow consoles as its spiritual successor.

The success of the first game made an impact to people's mind about what they are about to get in a follow-up game and Inside was praised even more for creating a compelling platforming experience with improved art, subtle plot and portrayal of a world shrouded in darkness. Inside has toned down the gory parts and delivered a lesser graphic rendition of events. Moving away from its predecessor's solid monochromatic color schemes, it chose to slightly highlight parts of the surrounding.

The Switch release announcement was recently made by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu on Twitter, which developer Playdead has Retweeted later to confirm.

Following the E3 2018 press conference, list of upcoming Nintendo games announced for Switch is growing exponentially. Amidst the middle of battle royale game Fortnite heading to this console and Mario Tennis Aces releasing a multiplayer demo, ports from Playdead seemed to be forgotten until Famitsu reminded it to everyone. Besides, any of Limbo and Inside were never been ported to any Nintendo hardware and given their history of releasing for every available console, it was only about time they head to Switch.
