Destiny 2: Forsaken Story Reveal

In one of E3 2018's most shocking moments, it looks like Bungie has your beloved Hunter Vanguard in some real trouble.

Despite Bungie's online-only multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny 2 being one of the two best-selling games on console alongside another Activision title Call of Duty: WWII, it faced some tough times with the release of "Curse of Osiris" and "Warmind" expansion pack DLC. Now that the third one in line has just announced shortly, fans knew that something is up and they will be let down once again. Unfortunately, they are proven right during Sony's E3 2018 press conference.

As the trailer opens, we see one of the most beloved Guardians and everyone's favorite hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 badly injured, sitting on his knees and even missing a chunk of his face. He surely is in trouble but isn't trying to run away. His ghost is taken out and then the camera moves around to reveal the return of Prince Uldren Sov holding an Ace of Spades hand cannon to his face. He blasts off the wisecrackin’ Exo on spot and then walks over his body along with his followers.

With that, D2 just killed of one of their most celebrated character from Destiny-verse, which drove players either frustrated or mad over Bungie. In an attempt to bring back players to the game, they decided to raise the stakes more than they ever did. They have introduced the threats of aliens trying to destroy the world before and it worked too but the studio believed taking a fan-favorite personality like Cayde off the board will be so much relatable to players on personal level.

D2 community has been devastated since they witnessed this and the Destiny subreddit is the solid proof of that with the increasing number of goofs and memes in the loving memory of Cayde-6. On September 4, Destiny 2: Forsaken is set to release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We hope that Guardians get their hands on Uldren Sov to get their revenge on their fallen comrade and settle scores then.
