The Avengers Project Will Begin Development Soon
Creative Director Shaun Escayg for upcoming The Avengers Project from Square Enix promises a very ambitious game.
It has been more than a year since Square Enix has signed a multi-year and multi-game partnership with Marvel Games back in 2017, which was supposed to began with the development of The Avengers Project.
For long, there was no update regarding the anticipating title and fans were wondering whether or not the game will ever see the light. Finally, their prayers are answered and a recent update from the game's Creative Director Shaun Escayg has reassured that.

Shaun Escayg took Twitter to thank all the fans who have been eagerly waiting for The Avengers Project and to let them know that it is still on.

Although his Tweet doesn't reveal much detail on their progress, it does confirm the fans that the studio is working really hard for a very ambitious game. Also, this update may be hinting in advance that Marvel may come up with some official news in 2019.
Apparently, developer studios Crystal Dynamics and EIDOS Montreal were supposed to work on the game but initially they didn't give a specific release date. The former has moved into a new state-of-the-art studio to work on bigger projects.

Last year, they started recruiting heads for the game and spend quite a while doing that. They were busy working on Shadow of the Tomb Raider and also saw release of the newly rebooted Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia Vikander.
Fans have been theorizing that the title may be an MMO or RPG experience because Square Enix's history with the Final Fantasy series. Marvel also backed the Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series but had to scrap further plans after Telltale Games underwent a massive layoff.
