Monster Hunter Movie First-Look Revealed
Official exclusive first-look image of Monster Hunter video game movie adaptation is just revealed today.
Back in May, it became official that Capcom and Constantin Film signed director Paul W.S. Anderson (Alien vs. Predator, Death Race) for a live-action Monster Hunter movie starring his wife and actress Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Ultraviolet) in lead role.
Shooting for this fantasy action thriller film based on fantasy-themed action role-playing Monster Hunter game series has already began and brand-new exclusive photo from the set offers very first-look of the upcoming movie.

Official plot synopsis for MH is also revealed by distribution company Screen Gems recently, which is as follows.

Latest image features Milla Jovovich as Lt. Natalie Artemis, an original character created for the film who is not from MH game series. Actor Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak, Tom-Yum-Goong) appears as one of skilled warriors that battles large monsters called The Hunter.
Artemis is shown carrying a pair of Dual Blades on her back, a carving knife and a Slinger on left arm on an Instagram image. Hunter is wielding an iconic Giant Jawblade and a Great Hunter's Bow, a look inspired from Field Team Leader of Monster Hunter: World.

Anderson said in an interview from set in South Africa that even though Artemis is an original character who never existed in Monster Hunter game, her armor and equipment will take direct inspiration from its original game franchise.
Take Artemis' chest piece for instance as the Odogaron chest piece takes reference from MH: World and its embossing designs are similar as well. Her unique outfit only means that she is an avatar of audience that can be customized with different sets.

Although Jovovich has been posting photos from set of the movie for some time that gave us some early glance, none of them actually revealed anything other than what sort of direction MH movie is going for or what character are in there.

Anderson chose South Africa's Atlantis Dunes location to shoot for its likeness to the Wildspire Waste from Monster Hunter games. He also plans on showcasing a multiple topographical locations in his film to keep par with the games.
MH film also starrs actors Diego Boneta, Meagan Good and Ron Perlman in supporting cast. Anderson and Jovovich are teaming up once again after their commercially successful stint on video game adaptations of Resident Evil franchise from Capcom.
