We got a gameplay demo to realize how gory it really is and have two different special edition of the game confirmed as well. Now, what we have out of Gamescom 2018 is a batch of new images featuring Claire Redfield, co-lead to rookie cop Leon S Kennedy.

These new screenshots of Claire from RE2Make looks incredibly beautiful and they are mostly derived from Claire's campaign, which will be separate from Leon’s scenario. Despite from going back to familiar locations and scenarios, Remake will offer a lot more that will even surprise the seasoned vets.
One of the images shows Claire with Sherry Birkin, possibly trying to protect the kid from her father and an Umbrella researcher, William Birkin with her signature M79 grenade launcher.

Original RE2 used to allow Claire’s launcher to fire different types of grenade rounds but as the Remake version allows players to craft their own ammunition, there are scopes for some potential experiment.
Ammo is very scarce, making it mandatory to pay mind towards resource management. In the middle of a zombie outbreak in Raccoon City, college student Claire wouldn't have survived in the first place among the undeads without her street smart attitude.

In earlier days, developers made a version for Resident Evil 2, which was 60% complete but was scrapped later because it seemed not scary enough to them. To maintain the connection to the original game from the survivor horror classic series, they replaced a primary character named Elza Walker and replaced her with Claire, who was the sister of Chris Redfield.
She took the lead in Resident Evil: Code - Veronica and Resident Evil Revelations 2 later to become an iconic role from the franchise.
