Resident Evil 2 Remake Premium Edition Announced
The Premium Edition of Resident Evil 2 Remake worth $900 feels overpriced for a Bluetooth mechanical keyboard and masking tapes.
Back in 2015, when producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi were announcing about their attempt for Resident Evil 2 Remake, he may not have anticipated that how much overwhelming the crowd response would be when they would finally reveal the first look at the project at E3 2018 press conference in Los Angeles.
We got a trailer, gameplay reveal and even confirmation for a Collector’s Edition already. Recently, developer/publisher Capcom has unveiled a Premium Edition for Japan.

For a whooping 99,800 Yen or around somewhat $900, this Premium Edition for RE2Make happens to be the most pricey piece of merch and fans are baffled by this overpriced surprise.
Titled Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition, the package contains a copy of the full game, a 12-inch statue of Leon Kennedy in his RPD uniform, 32-page official art book, CD of original soundtracks, voucher code to download DLC, a renovation design poster of Raccoon Police Station and the iconic item box.

However, these are all the contents you can get in a Collector’s Edition and are roughly worth $225. The question remains, what is the rest of the money are for? Turns out, an official vintage modeled Lexington typewriter that is actually a bluetooth enabled USB keyboard and four ink ribbons rolled up as masking/washi tape are what raises the price.
This fully-functional keyboard compatible with Mac and Windows has a stand on it not to put a blank paper but to mount your tablet or smartphone.

Despite trying to make the design of the typewriter as traditional as possible, it doesn't look anything like the one shown in Resident Evil 2 Remake. If you simply order the original model of this modified version, you can acquire it for only $249.
Therefore, it takes approximately $475 to get all of the goodies mentioned above. Two in-game items, Samurai Edge – Chris and Jill Model pistols doesn't seem to cost much as well. So, we are still trying to figure out what that extra $425 is for!

Now we are not sure if the pack is Japan-only release or will it ever come to North America and any other region but will find out soon. January 25, 2019, the survivor horror classic is expected to release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One priced only $59.99 for the base game.
Capcom is also backing up Resident Evil 2: The Board Game as an official tabletop creation and apparently is very interested in producing more remake titles in future seeing massive positive feedback from die-hard fans.
