Throughout entire trailer, Alyx Vance is seen fending herself off from hostile creatures or being hunted down by tactically equipped Overwatch Soldiers. Under their nose, she and her cohorts are trying to steal some sort of game-changing weapon.
Together with her father and scientist Dr. Eli Vance, she is fighting for human resistance against an alien race called the Combine. Moving to City 17 of occupied Earth, they are working on finding out weakness of the enemy.

She apparently has similar functionality of Gravity Gun in her gloves now, which she uses to interact with her surroundings and grab objects. Among many of returning enemies and extraterrestrials, Headcrabs are back again.
Nearing the end of trailer, mysterious G-Man makes his iconic return for a cameo and probably has an answer to where Gordon Freeman is kept. Or probably, he is here to act as an overseer and lead Alyx to save her captive father.

On launch, Half-Life prequel will run compatibly with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Windows Mixed Reality and Valve Index headsets. Owners of latter virtual reality device will receive free copy of the game and extra content.
