Turns out that leak was very much legit and recently, 2K has officially confirmed that one of their newly-formed internal game development studios, Cloud Chamber is working on next chapter of BioShock for years indeed.

Given the timeframe for this news to come out all of a sudden, players can hope to get some sort of reveal or official tease through an image at Sony's State of Play presentation soon or at The Game Awards 2019 within a few days.
It's been six years since BioShock Infinite came out in 2013 as last release of the series and old-school fans are still waiting for a new game. However, neither 2K Games nor Cloud Chamber has confirmed if next BioShock game would be a mainline title.
