Job Listing Suggests Horizon Zero Dawn Sequel in Development?
Recent job postings by Guerrilla Games hint at an anticipated sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5.
Throughout this year, developer Guerrilla Games has celebrated two major milestones for their 2017 action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn; its second anniversary of release on PlayStation 4 and selling over 10 million copies worldwide.
Back in April 2019, a sequel to HZD was confirmed to be in works by voice actress Janina Gavankar (Sleepy Hollow, True Blood) of its Frozen Wilds DLC but now a recent job listing has made it clear that her claims are likely to be true.

A number of vacancies have been sighted recently on official website of the Dutch developer and they stated for post of a Technical Vegetation Artist, "We have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon".
Hired designer would require creating vegetation assets for in-game world and it may be for Horizon Zero Dawn 2, unless they are working on new release from Killzone series or RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, which is very much unlikely.

Besides, HZD had a lush environment full of jungle and freezing forests for most part, which is not a relatable case for their other known IPs. Since they have an established gameplay foundation at hand, HZD2 may see release in 2023.
A single mention of their biggest game and a job posting is not essentially a clear hint for anything related to a sequel but assembling a new crew is clearly an indication of something new that is going to be a platform exclusive.

Now that Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a release window for PlayStation 5 to be holiday season 2020, there are a lot of rumor and speculations over which titles will make debut on their next-generation console.
Reportedly, many developer studios are already working on their upcoming projects for Sony's new console and even though nothing is officially confirmed yet, it would only make sense for Guerrilla Games to work on a sequel for PS5.

Despite being a commercial success, HZD only received a single DLC in November 2017 without any follow-up. However, Guerrilla can surely improve over its sequel using improved features of PlayStation 5, while boosting unit sales for the console.
Horizon Zero Dawn launched on February 28, 2017 to receive critical acclaim for character development and a gripping story. It is the fifth best-selling PS4-exclusive title ahead of God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
