Rare Studio is back with newest Sea of Thieves free monthly content update for August 2019, Dark Relics.
Continuing a series of regular monthly updates, developer Rare Studio and publisher Microsoft Studios brings yet another new addition to action-adventure game Sea of Thieves this month, starting from today, August 14, 2019.
Packing up cosmetics to earn and newer objectives to pursue, latest free content update is titled Dark Relics aims at improved gameplay experience with many more to arrive in future for its players on PC and Xbox One.

A brand-new trailer for latest update is released lately that features some key aspects of Dark Relics event.

Players would take on new voyage from Order of Souls that will send them after powerful stolen artifacts called Dark Relics. You will come across crew of skeletons and smash them to retrieve those pieces for good money.
There is variety of Commendations to earn for retrieval of stolen relics and a bunch of timed rewards. Completing voyages grants you titles like Relic Hunter and Relic Collector alongside cosmetic items and Mercenary ship set.

Aside for seeking out five different types of missing relics, also be on the lookout for Ritual Skulls dropped by skeletons, because that is something both the Order and mysterious stranger are interested to pay well for.
When you are at it, pirates can earn some extra doubloons in exchange for a new treasure type called Reaper's Chests. These will not only unlock Commendations on top of your regular rewards but earns you Death Defier Title as well.

Whereas regular voyage costs you five doubloons, it would cost ten doubloons for pirate Legends to get into Athena's Fortune voyage at The Devil's Roar and they obviously better your chances of collecting more artifacts.
Occasionally spawning harpoon mounted rowboats are here to stay as and pirates can take one of those to steal treasure from shores to ships. This permanent addition is perhaps the best part of newest update to have more fun.

Following release of free Anniversary Update earlier, Rare Studio has decided to launch a new event in an ongoing cycle of each month on second Wednesday that will have features, new voyage types and special activities for players.
Sea of Thieves development team states, both Black Powder event from last month and Dark Relics on this month are part of what they are planning to introduce in future while dropping hints for upcoming quest contents.
