Elden Ring Announced
Created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, fantasy action RPG game Elden Ring is announced by From Software at E3 2019.
Long after a rumor of an epic collaboration between Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin spread out, their upcoming project Elden Ring has finally been announced at Xbox E3 2019 briefing.
This much hyped action role-playing game by developer From Software is seemingly to become a spiritual successor to Dark Souls. Recently, a brand-new trailer launches portraying similar dark and ominous tones of their past games.

A cinematic teaser of a very mysterious plotline for the game only gives away shade of another fantasy saga.

The trailer opens up showing an unknown figure who is presumably a divine blacksmith of some sort and repeatedly hitting a shiny object with a hammer like tool. With each impact, his body is cracked a little more and he collapses after a final blow.
A person wearing a crown holds up a severed arm of another by partially wearing it and six creepy looking hands approaches from darkness. They slowly proceed to uplift the bearer to light when the severed arm suddenly moves.

A red-haired female warrior prepares for an oncoming battle by attaching a prosthetic arm. We then see a knight in armor swiftly stabs a hulking enemy with a spear, which led to sky turning fiery red and the defeated opponent set ablaze in flames.
While these events all run in parallel, legend of Elden Ring is described by an unseen narrator as an artifact of unimaginable power that could command stars and beyond but now, someone or something has unleashed an unthinkable disaster by breaking it.

Early leaks and rumors had it that creators have taken some inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology during its build up. Players are supposed to roam from different kingdoms to take out their ruler in quest of acquiring their power.
Opening shots of a cut off arm could be some form of ritual and a battle scene with red sky may be from aspects of confronting those monarch figures. Although confirmed to be an open-world game, there would be significant focus on RPG elements.

Hidetaka Miyazaki will be serving as game director and he revealed that development for the game started as soon as they were done with DLC expansions for Dark Souls III, meaning development is ongoing for past two years.
Elden Ring is currently set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms and though no official release date has been confirmed by developer From Software or publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment just yet, it may arrive sometime in early 2020.
