As usual, player character V arrives on a crime-ridden area of Night City megalopolis for a payday after finishing a job. His contractor asks if he got what he asked for and upon confirmation, tells him to go to washroom to wash off.
While washing off blood from his hands, V recounts how he went on a big-time job earlier with Jackie Welles to get insane rich and though they somehow got the job done, his friend caught up in ensuing shootout from rival gang.

As soon as he got out, V is slammed with the door and he tries to retaliate with pointy extension of his augmented arms to no avail. His fixer, Dexter DeShawn is mad at him that they caused too much chaos and they all draw their gun on each other.
He discovers himself in a junkyard outside of megacity and is rebooted by a stranger with a likeness of John Wick star. He invites V by saying "Wake the fuck up, samurai. We have a city to burn", which is a nod to the name printed on the collar of his jacket.

Reeves's role here is obviously of a non-playable character but he is not just a random nobody here. He is playing Johnny Silverhand, an iconic character created by Mike Pondsmith for original Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game.
You can even see him having a shiny cybernetic silver arm when he removes his shades but this is quite different than his actual look. Bringing Silverhand into the mix is an attempt from CD Projekt Red to connect the game to its lore.

A Collector's Edition worth $249.99 is up for pre-order now, which includes an artbook, box, embroidered patches, metal pin set, NCPD evidence bag, quadra V-tech metal keychain, V-figure and digital items like original soundtrack.
Sci-fi adventure Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red currently scheduled to release on April 16, 2020. PC version of the game will be available on Epic Games Store, GOG and Steam as developers chose not to make it an Epic Store-exclusive.
