FoxNext to Develop New Alien Video Game
A video game division for 20th Century Fox, FoxNext Games has recently acquired San Francisco-based game developer Cold Iron Studios. Members of the studio are people who previously worked on popular games like BioShock Infinite, City of Heroes and Metroid Prime 3 as former members of Cryptic Studios. FoxNext then announced of developing a new game on the Alien sci-fi horror saga for PC and consoles.
Director Ridley Scott has created a sci-fi movie masterpiece back in 1979 with the movie Alien and that has spawned into a series of films and other spin-off series as well. Adapting the elements, some classic games like Alien: Colonial Marines and Alien: Isolation was made over the years. The most recent live-action movie installment of the Alien franchise was Alien: Covenant, released on 2017 but it's been a long time since we saw a video game based on the same series.
So far, all we know about this upcoming title is that it is going to be a shooter aside from it being set of Ridley Scott's Alien universe. FoxNext is looking to deliver an action-packed experience to the players and the fans of the series. FoxNext Games president Aaron Loeb is a fan of the works Cold Iron Studios have done in past. Besides, they are looking for a few spin-offs and creating original games as well.

In past, Japanese video game developer and publisher Sega used to have exclusive publishing rights from 20th Century Fox for the franchise of video games based on Alien and related media. Although the first game to debut from FoxNext Games is going to be Marvel Strike Force, a free-to-play role-playing mobile game in 2018, the new Alien video game will be the first title release from Cold Iron Studios.
