Now those two games are heading to upcoming 23rd annual D.I.C.E. Awards this award season earning most number of nominations each, to compete against each other over multiple categories including Game of the Year.

Though started off with a few issues on consoles at launch, reception towards Control was mostly positive. However, that didn't reflect largely when it comes to winning awards and it has won for Best Art Direction at TGA 2019.
On the other hand, social strand genre pioneer Death Stranding was a highly-anticipated title from game director Hideo Kojima following his infamous departure from Konami and has divided audience in terms of reviews.
