Popular digital distribution platform GOG is widely known for giving discounts on game purchase and sometime they are generous enough to giveaway free games. On that note, GOG is offering a limited-time free download of the game and the offer remains till 9 AM ET, 15 February. This is a fine opportunity for The King of Fighters series enthusiasts to jump into action without paying any bucks upfront.
However, this quick grab Valentine’s Day/Chinese New Year gift to claim within less than 48 hours is the PC version of the game and it has a few setbacks according to the user reviews. Apparently, the control system for the game is locked and by that we mean, not only you cannot map your keys but controllers are not supported too. There are also issues with the game regarding limited display options, which is really a bummer.

After a few release with the 4-on-4 "Striker Match" format, The King of Fighters 2002 brought the classic three-on-three fighting system back again by ditching that formula. The game was dropped on arcade systems back in 2002 from Eolith and Playmore as the ninth title of the series. Considering all the issues people are complaining about, you can go and grab the new SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy instead.
