The Cuphead Show is Coming to Netflix
Based on indie smash-hit title, King Features and Netflix announce all-new animated series The Cuphead Show!
Following its official reveal back in E3 2015, indie run and gun title Cuphead came out in 2017 as an Xbox One-exclusive from indie game developer/publisher StudioMDHR and ended up selling over 4 million copies worldwide so far.
Considering its global success and overwhelming popularity among a wide audience, streaming giant Netflix have decided to pick it up for their subscription-based platform to make an all-new animated series titled The Cuphead Show!

In an official announcement released today, Netflix revealed partnering up with King Features Syndicate to adapt wildly popular world of hand-drawn game by MDHR to their popular subscription-based online streaming platform.
Writer David Wasson (Mickey Mouse, Time Squad) and Cosmo Segurson (Chowder, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling) will be serving as co-executive producers alongside Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, game director of named indie-hit.

Though video game adaption in visual media often doesn't do well, Netflix saw great success with two seasons of Castlevania anime and now they are all set to go ahead with another show based on an award-winning video game.
The show will likely to explore in-game world of Inkwell Isles featuring Cuphead and Mugman as lead characters with few familiar faces possibly showing up, through animation style inspired from classic Fleischer cartoons of 1930s.

An official description has also been released but it doesn't giveaway much regarding plot of The Cuphead Show!

Aside from being commercially successful, the game has managed to bag more than 20 major industry awards that includes but not limited to Special Achievement in Animation at Annie Awards and for music at BAFTA Games award.
In April 2019, Cuphead has seen release on Nintendo Switch handheld console and lately, an upcoming DLC expansion pack "Delicious Last Course" have been delayed by StudioMDHR to 2020 to avoid crunch time during development.
