Originally announced back in 2016 at PlayStation Experience, action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II remains one of the most anticipated upcoming titles from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment.
We didn't get an official release date yet because the game is still under development but recently, game director Neil Druckmann has announced on social media that motion capture has wrapped up, completing major part of the process.

We know that lead characters Joel and Ellie are returning for this impending PlayStation 4-exclusive that is set five years after The Last of Us but this time the latter will be going through a cycle of violence for personal reasons.
In terms of story, there was a teaser and a trailer that only explores fraction of its entire plot without possibly revealing any major twist. A footage featuring gameplay was released during E3 2018 and it was as brutal as it could get.

The Last of Us remains a saga of Joel and Ellie going through a lot of blood, sweat and tears that is very close to Neil. Of course, Baker and Johnson too are similarly attached to this sequel project as well that is heading towards completion.
Druckmann has posted an image of actor Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker on Twitter, pointing to an emotional wrap-up.

Although wrapping up motion capture scenes shooting are major part of development but Naughty Dog still has much work to do for making this much awaited PS4 game a reality, even though it probably is not coming out in 2019.
While waiting for a release date to be announced, we can expect The Last of Us Part II to also arrive on PlayStation 5 following recent revealing of its first details. Besides, PS5 console is going to be backwards compatible with PS4 games anyway.
