A compilation like this takes a lot of curating and research before they are all jammed into one. All the SNK titles are put together by developer Digital Eclipse, who previously worked on Mega Man Legacy Collection and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
Since most of the games are from SNK years before they moved over to Neo Geo system, they do not have the edge games like The King of Fighters or Samurai Shodown had in later days. However, some of these picks are of historical importance in terms of the medium.

Another thing the studio mastered is the functionality of the Loop Lever joystick and although they are not playable in original format, their target was to replicate the experience as close to the original hardware.
Entire Museum Mode is dedicated to miscellaneous concept art section for these retro classics like Ikari Warriors, Psycho Soldier and Prehistoric Isle. SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is a blessing for players who cannot find these games for modern consoles and we really are thankful.
