Resident Evil 9 Could Be Revealed Soon and Released in January 2025 |
Nearly three years since Resident Evil Village has released, developer/publisher Capcom has yet to officially announce Resident Evil 9 as their next mainline entry in long-running survival horror franchise, which is in development for years.
Earlier last month, a reputed leaker claimed that next entry in Resident Evil series has now been delayed internally. Latest update from the same insider retracts their early reports and suggests Resident Evil 9 could release in next January.
In a series of Tweet, renowned leaker AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem has recently shared that Resident Evil 9 may release in January 2025. Rumors of a possible delay can be pushed aside for now and Capcom could reveal it pretty soon.
January 2025 seems to be Capcom's internal target for launching Resident Evil 9, which is under development for about seven years. AestheticGamer refused to leak any other details of RE9 as they want fans to be surprised during reveal.
Dusk Golem claims that Resident Evil 9 may release in early 2025 and will be revealed soon on social media.
I have good news/rumors to deliver on Resident Evil 9. The possible delay I had heard murmurs about can be pushed aside. RE9 should be revealed pretty soon & release next year. If what I heard previously holds true, should be in January. It'll have had about 7 years in dev.

Originally started development in early 2018, RE9 was planned as a possible RE8 and RE: Village a spin-off title. As both were in works at the same time, Village became RE8 and ultimately, RE9 becomes next mainline Resident Evil release.
Resident Evil 9 allegedly has the biggest budget and longest development time for any RE series entry in history to date. Capcom has reportedly also greenlit several other RE projects, including a bunch of modern remake and spin-off title.
