Having gone though fan-backlash over PlayStation Network account linking policy, PC version of 2020 action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima was removed from Steam marketplace for over 60 countries by its publisher Sony Interactive.

Shortly after adding restricted countries for purchase, Sony has allegedly auto-refunded all pre-order on Steam. Despite not selling in many regions, Ghost of Tsushima becomes fourth biggest PlayStation PC launch on Steam at debut day.

According to a latest report on SteamDB website, Ghost of Tsushima has surpassed over 59,244 concurrent players on Steam since release. That peak number has only exceeded by three other PlayStation PC games by internal Sony studio.

Currently leading on top is 2024 co-operative third-person shooter Helldivers II from third-party developer Arrowhead with 458,709 concurrent players, which is followed by God of War (2018) and Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered on PC.

PC release of Ghost of Tsushima has also been very well received by players on Steam with 85% of its reviews are generally positive. Earlier last month, Sony has officially added trophy support for its PC titles, once PSN accounts are linked.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut peak player count could rise over the weekend and may leave behind few other PlayStation PC titles. It already dethroned Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man: Miles Morales in less than a day.
