Confirming all previous rumors, a modern remake of 2004 stealth action-adventure game Metal Gear Solid 3 was announced during PlayStation Showcase 2023 stream for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms by publisher Sony.
Earlier in late 2022, Japanese developer/publisher Konami also revealed their upcoming remake of 2001 survival horror game Silent Hill 2. Although none of them has a set launch window, they are apparently releasing sometime this year.
Sony Interactive Entertainment released a new teaser for upcoming 2024 lineup of PlayStation 5 games.
Despite having no official launch date, Sony claims that both projects are currently scheduled to arrive this year at the time of publication. This could loosely hint to a late 2024 release window, which will be finalized by publishers later on.
Konami and Sony may have plans to launch both projects in 2024, which is likely to be settled in later this year. An upcoming PlayStation Showcase event or State of Play broadcast could reveal when these projects are hitting digital stores.
Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is billed as a faithful re-imagination of original story delivering a seamless user experience. Silent Hill 2 Remake attempts to preserve the atmosphere of original series favorite that reformed survival horror.
Konami is commemorating debut of Metal Gear Solid 3 on PlayStation 2 by launching its remake later this year. Polish developer studio Bloober Team was working on Silent Hill 2 long before its 2022 reveal and will probably launch it soon.
