Warner Bros. Games officially announces to release Mortal Kombat 1 for PC and consoles on September 19, 2023.

Earlier in February, upcoming new entry in Mortal Kombat fighting game series was confirmed by publisher Warner Bros. during an investor call while series creator Ed Boon kept teasing at a possible roster for Mortal Kombat 12 to fans.
For about a week or so, Ed Boon has been teasing next installment in MK franchise and a likely reboot on social media. Following an official announcement, Mortal Kombat 1 got revealed by WB, with a set release date and other details.

Newest trailer reveals a rebooted Mortal Kombat universe created by Fire God Liu Kang and its full of reimagined versions of characters. Following events of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, he restored the hourglass and started a new era.
Several iconic fighters like Johnny Cage, Kitana, Kung Lao, Mileena, Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero and more will return. However, there will be twists in their original backstory and classic rivalry through premise of its immersive experience.
Players can also summon "Kameo Fighters" from a unique roster of characters to assist amidst matches. Warner Bros have plans to add cross-play, cross-progression and rollback netcode to support online play during MK1 post-release.
Although not yet confirmed, MK1 will reportedly include both Homelander and Peacemaker in a Character Pass as guest fighters. NetherRealm Studios previously featured known characters like Rambo, RoboCop, Terminator and more.

Pre-order any edition to get Shang Tsung as playable character and access to beta for consoles in August 2023. MK1 Premium and Kollector's Edition owners will receive Early Access to game on all platforms starting September 14, 2023.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be arriving later this year for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, 2023. PC version will be available via Epic Games Store and Steam at launch as dev team skips last-gen console.
