Coinciding with release of PlayStation 5-exclusive The Last of Us Part I from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment, a TV series has also premiered on HBO Max streaming platform in early January this year.
As it wraps up lately, a second Season for The Last of Us TV series is expected to cover storyline of The Last of Us Part II. However, series creators suggest that Season 2 won't cover entirety of second game and may expand a little further.
In a recent interview with GQ, series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann talked about their plans regarding second Season. When asked whether Season 2 will span the entire course of TLoU2, they completely denied such ideas.
Mazin stated, "No. No way" and Druckmann added that it will be more than one Season, subtly hinting at Season 3. Without confirming how many seasons it would take to adapt TLoU Part II, Mazin says more than one is actually correct.
Druckmann and Mazin shares how they will adapt a more complex story of TLoU Part 2, relying on multiple perspectives. There will be some elements similar to the game but sometime a few changes may take place through its Season 2.
The Last of Us TV series co-creators are focused to deliver a new Season that makes fans happy and they want to do it again. Druckmann finds it easier to make Season 2 as there is a trust and he is working with a script that makes it easy.
