During their spree of taking over many companies and IPs lately, Swedish video game company Embracer Group has acquired developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal last year with a catalogue of established titles for $300 million.
Embracer has later teased at launching remakes, remasters and sequels based on classic Square Enix games. A new report reveals that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal are expected to roll out a couple of AAA-games by March 31, 2028.
In latest financial report, Embracer Group revealed plans for upcoming lineup of games that are coming within next years. They want to release 94 of their ongoing projects through 2024 fiscal year, which will be ending on March next year.
Updating on their pipeline, Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors claims more than 100 full-time developers are currently working on their AAA-games, which has prominent marketing budgets and are likely to sell at least two million copies.
Some of these titles are funded by an external partner, like Xbox-exclusive Perfect Dark reboot, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Microsoft-owned studio The Initiative, while ending support for Marvel's Avengers this year.
An insider report has revealed earlier that a new Deus Ex game was in early development stage at Eidos Montréal. They are also working on a brand-new IP and is collaborating with Microsoft on Xbox titles including long-anticipated Fable.
Back in December 2022, Amazon Games announced to publish upcoming Tomb Raider game by Crystal Dynamics. A survey for revival of long-dormant Legacy of Kain series saw overwhelming response from players, claims CEO Phil Rogers.
