For current generation, upcoming action role-playing game Starfield from developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks can greatly bolster first-party lineup of Microsoft when it finally arrives on cloud streaming, PC and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
Originally scheduled to release for Q3 of last year, Bethesda delayed both Redfall and Starfield for early 2023. Although there was no definitive launch window, a newly launched support site seemingly reassures their previous release plan.
Bethesda launches a support site for their next RPG at the start of ongoing month and it states that "Starfield arrives exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PC in the first half of 2023", repeating their intention to release it on first half of 2023.
Shortly after delaying its release, game director Todd Howard revealed 15-minutes of footage at Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 livestream event last June, showing its large open- world map, customizable spaceships and more.
Howard also showed up at Lex Fridman podcast later on, talking about how a decision to delay Starfield was difficult but was ultimately, the right thing to do and Bethesda was busy working with Xbox engineers to make it sing on consoles.
Starfield becoming an Xbox-exclusive is a direct result of Bethesda/ZeniMax Media acquisition by Microsoft. Many future Bethesda releases may not arrive on PlayStation consoles but Todd claims, they have a history with Xbox since 2002.
