A second part in a planned trilogy, upcoming action role-playing game Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth from developer/publisher Square Enix was announced last year during 25th anniversary of FFVII saga, coming to PlayStation 5 in late 2023.
Earlier last month, a remaster of 1997 prequel game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was launched for all platforms. As we step into a New Year, Rebirth producer Yoshinori Kitase is teasing major announcement that is not related to FFVII.
In a New Year's message, Kitase mentions that development for FFVII, Part II is picking up speed and more will be shared in near future. He also teased at big announcement, which is unrelated to FFVII but didn't say much about it at all.
Nvidia GeForce Now streaming service had a massive leak back in 2021, which revealed several unannounced games that includes Final Fantasy IX Remake and Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster, titles that are slated for release very soon.
Some of these leaked games are already been released, including Chrono Cross Remaster, Final Fantasy 7 Remake port for PC and a number of other titles from different third-party publishers, further proving credibility of GeForce leak.
Square Enix has confirmed earlier last month that Final Fantasy XVI will release for PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023. In a recent trailer, it was pointed out that FFXVI will be exclusive to PS5 for six months, teasing at PC port release in 2023.
