A surprise indie hit of 2022, beat 'em up brawler Sifu from French developer/publisher Sloclap made its debut on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 earlier in February, selling over a million copies within a month.
Just last month, its timed console exclusivity ended when a Nintendo Switch handheld version was released by Sloclap. In a recent announcement, Steam and Xbox launch was confirmed for a March 2023 release window by developer.
Sloclap releases a brand-new teaser trailer for Steam and Xbox version of Sifu, including Arenas mode update.
Alongside its Steam and Xbox release, Sloclap will roll out a free update that will include brand-new Arenas mode for everyone. There are nine new maps with many challenges and difficulty levels to add further gameplay replayability.
Upon completion of these Arenas challenges, players will unlock a bunch of new modifiers and alternative moves for protagonist. Clearing out Arenas mode also unlocks some new cheats as well as exclusive outfit for our Kung Fu hero.
Instead of having an easy way out, Sifu chose to introduce a tough learning curve, so it would take some effort to gain mastery in combat. It may seem punishing at times but offers reward to relentless players for struggles in the end.
Sifu release date for PC via Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S will be revealed in upcoming months. Steam version is already available to wishlist right now but whether or not it launches on Xbox Game Pass has not been confirmed.
