The Callisto Protocol Out Now
Discover dark secrets of Black Iron Prison as The Callisto Protocol is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S.
The Callisto Protocol Out Now |
Living up to legacy of Dead Space, 2022 survival horror game The Callisto Protocol by developer Striking Distance Studios and publisher Krafton is out now across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
While making supply runs for United Jupiter Company, protagonist Jacob Lee had to crash land on Jupiter's moon after being boarded by alleged terrorist group Outer Way and he is taken to Black Iron Prison high-security penitentiary.
Dark Secrets of Callisto |
Once there, Jacob realizes BIP is overrun by a mysterious outbreak that turns its inmates into a hostile creature. Amidst all chaos, longtime detainee Elias Porter becomes his ally and they try to retaliate against the infected and escape.
They eventually come up with a plan and encounters Outer Way leader, Dani Nakamura (Karen Fukuhara) but she refuses to join them. As they all work to their goal, disturbing secrets buried beneath the surface of Callisto is uncovered.
Master Brutal, Strategic Combat |
Although a victim of fate, Jacob battles his way to safety and becomes adept in combat tactics against these creatures. Callisto Protocol employs a mix of close-quarters combat and shooting in gameplay to help you outrun all enemies.
Jacob will face-off many mutated, nightmarish enemies in Black Iron Prison and some are more horrifying than others. There is a huge, two-headed monstrosity lurking around those hallways and it would chase you even if taken down.
Next-Generation of Survival Horror |
Striking Distance releases an official launch trailer for The Callisto Protocol in celebration of its global release.
Dead Space co-creator and game director Glen Schofield was inspired by films like Alien (1979), Event Horizon, The Thing and more. Initially planned to tie-in with PUBG universe, its narrative has further expanded its own story later on.
The Callisto Protocol aims to be next-generation of horror set in a pioneering future, much like its spiritual predecessor. Jacob's struggle for survival becomes highlight of a dreadful story that expands beyond its single-player campaign.
