CD Projekt Red has announced a new release date for next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, coming this December.

Weeks after sharing a development roadmap early last month, developer/publisher CD Projekt Red announces The Witcher Remake being helmed by Polish studio Fool's Theory using Unreal Engine 5, known as codename "Canis Majoris".
Over a year ago, CDPR promises to release a next-gen version of 2015 action role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and it was delayed a number of times but dev team finally revealed a release date scheduled for December 14, 2022.
Enhanced for modern PC and next-gen consoles, upcoming The Witcher 3: Complete Edition to add a lot of visual, performance and technical enhancements on top of original features, along with fast loading times and ray-tracing support.
Aside from gameplay updates, next-gen version will include both expansions and all previously released DLCs for free. CDPR also have plans for Netflix's The Witcher series-themed additional content and details will be revealed next week.
Originally scheduled to arrive last year, The Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade was delayed to second quarter of 2022. Saber Interactive was initially handling development but CDPR had to move in and bring the project in-house to finish it soon.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen version will be available to purchase on PC, PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X/S digitally. CD Projekt will release a physical edition at a later date, which will be confirmed alongside other details soon.
