Activision Reveals Plan for Full Premium Call of Duty Release in 2023

In three days after worldwide release, 2022 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II by developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision has earned over $800 million in sales, which is a fastest-selling milestone in series history.

Other than breaking franchise sales record, Modern Warfare rebooted sequel a highest grossing opening for any entertainment product. Moreover, new report claims that Activision will launch a premium "Call of Duty" experience in 2023.

Activision financial report has recently confirmed that a "premium" release in Call of Duty series is planned for 2023. Among third quarter financial results, series publisher also plans to release a free-to-play experience for PC and console.

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier claims that Call of Duty release next year will be a significant expansion for Modern Warfare II. Activision is reportedly skipping next year for mainline Call of Duty series entry for first time since its debut.

Schreier further claimed that Activision will be launching a "greatest hits" pack featuring several multiplayer maps from classic Call of Duty games to celebrate 20th anniversary of CoD franchise while they work on new game from Treyarch.
