With so many leaks getting out of hands, Japanese video game developer/publisher Konami has finally admitted working on several ongoing projects focused on classic survival horror franchise Silent Hill and reveals multiple upcoming games.
After denying a number of rumors regarding Silent Hill series reboot for past few years, Konami confirms a couple of projects currently under development, including Silent Hill 2 Remake but it will focus a lot more on graphics than gameplay.
Helmed by Polish developer studio Bloober Team, upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2 will entirely recreate original experience for both long-time series fans a modern-day audience on new-gen hardware but there won't be any major changes.
There are no possibilities for drastic changes or new additions to Silent Hill 2 Remake as Konami is seemingly keeping Bloober Team on an extremely short leash and wants to remain faithful to original experience, claims journalist Imran Khan.
Known insider Imran Khan talked to people close to Silent Hill 2 Remake to share recent update on Twitter.
For what it's worth regarding Silent Hill 2, the people I've talked to about this game that are close to the project have said Konami has had an extremely short leash with Bloober in terms of changes or new content. I don't think that means no possibility of changes, though.

Bloober Team has previously confirmed to add a newly reworked combat system and over-the- shoulder camera angle for Silent Hill 2 Remake but that might be an extent of overall gameplay changes and will mainly focus on better graphics.
Being developed with Unreal Engine 5, graphics for Silent Hill sequel looked really impressive in official reveal footage. Bloober Team will also use UE5 features like Lumen and Nanite to create highly-detailed and realistic level for Silent Hill 2.
Given its iconic status within horror genre, Bloober Team will be wise to remain true to original Silent Hill 2 experience. A few early reports suggest that Bloober will introduce new animations, a revamped AI, puzzles and several new endings.
Silent Hill 2 originally made its debut on PlayStation 2 console and therefore, upcoming remake will improve its dated visual. Bloober Team plans to maintain the experience of original survival horror classic by keeping that same atmosphere.
