Along with a few other ongoing projects, Japanese developer/publisher Konami recently reveals upcoming survival horror game Silent Hill 2 Remake during Silent Hill Transmission livestream in an attempt to revive their long-dormant series.
Being helmed by Polish developer Bloober Team for PC and PlayStation 5 console, a launch date has not been confirmed for latest remake. However, Silent Hill 2 Remake has seemingly entered final stage of production and may release soon.
While attending GPW Innovation Day in Poland lately, Bloober president Piotr Babieno revealed that remake of Silent Hill 2 has been under development since 2019 and currently they are busy polishing it and in "late production stage" now.
However, it is still not clear whether Silent Hill 2 Remake will be coming in 2023 as even Konami didn't mention any dates yet. Despite being in development for a few years, have no idea about how badly production was hit during pandemic.
Babieno also added that even though they are in final stages of development, it is up to Konami on when they want to launch it. Looking at newly reveled trailer, it becomes very clear that SH2 Remake is almost nearing close to a conclusion.
Silent Hill franchise may be returning once again to its glory but fans will still have to wait a little longer for a definitive release date. Players on Xbox console systems have to hang around even longer due to timed exclusivity on PlayStation 5.
