Originally launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, 2010 action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption by developer/publisher Rockstar Games received critical-acclaim and lead to a follow-up sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar has reportedly scrapped remasters of Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption earlier to focus on Grand Theft Auto VI. More recently, RDR got removed from PlayStation Plus and no longer playable on PlayStation 4 or 5.
Earlier this week, Red Dead Redemption was pulled from PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus services. Nearly six years ago in 2016, original RDR was added to PS Now and was bundled into PS Plus Premium tier just a few months back.
Following its removal, PlayStation console owners won't be able to play Red Dead Redemption without a working PlayStation 3 or a disk. However, RDR is currently available to play across PC emulators as well as Xbox family of consoles.
Twitter user videotech_ recently shared news of Red Dead Redemption leaving PlayStation Plus on social media.
Red Dead Redemption (1) is no longer available to stream on PS Plus/PS Now after 6 years of its debut on the service in 2016.

Backward compatibility is a long-debated topic in gaming community and whereas, Xbox Series X/S lets you play all previous Xbox generation games, PlayStation 5 only supports PS4 discs and many classics are unplayable on new system.
Sony has been adding a catalog of classic games to newly re-branded PlayStation Plus premium service to compensate for this shortcoming. However, they are still limited to a select lineup of PlayStation 1, 2 and 3-era titles on streaming.
Players who relied on PS Plus to play original Red Dead Redemption are now out of luck unless they have a PS3 at home. However, Sony may try to bring back RDR to PS4 and PS5 if there is a huge fan-outcry to play it on newer consoles.
Red Dead Redemption Remaster for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S was reportedly in works for a few years until it got cancelled when Rockstar moved on with GTA 6 and due to a poor reception of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition.
