Already hit by a DDoS attack and server queues at launch, 2022 first-person shooter Overwatch 2 from developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment is getting criticized for its micro-transaction items despite being a free-to-play experience.
Blizzard has already apologized to players for overall launch issues and removes phone number requirement for a lot of them. Earlier today, Overwatch 2 faced a server bug that lead to half of character roster getting locked out for players.
Taking down servers for emergency maintenance, Blizzard had to remove Bastion and Torbjörn temporarily for a potential bug. Both of these characters are taken to workshop for a quick trip, so devs can resolve those game-breaking bugs.
According to multiple reports from players, one third of unlocked roster of heroes were locked suddenly without any warning. Blizzard eventually acknowledged this issue and has identified a server bug that has caused this dilemma for all.
Due to a glitch, Bastion was able to use ultimate attack infinitely and has been fully disabled in-game for now. Torbjörn however, was only removed from competitive play and still playable in Quick Play mode until devs can fix these issues.
Overwatch 2 came back online after a quick fixing but server bugs didn't get fixed for everyone, as some players claim. Meanwhile, Battle.net client is forcing lot of players in queue to connect and account merge options isn't really working.
