Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Will Still Release in 2023 |
Featuring a darker tone and new villains, upcoming PlayStation 5-exclusive superhero action- adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man 2 from developer Insomniac Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment is coming next year.
Ever since PlayStation Showcase September 2021 announcement, nothing else was shared on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in over a year, which led many to speculate for a delay in release plans but Insomniac has reaffirmed its 2023 launch.
In a response to a fan on social media, Insomniac confirms that Spider-Man 2 is still slated for 2023 release window as originally planned. Dev team is reportedly making great progress and fans need not to worry about its release dates.
Just last week, Peter Parker and Miles Morales actors Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter posted a new set video of Spider-Man 2. Both of them were in performance capture suits and it means production is ongoing or nearly on final stage.
Insomniac addressed fan-concerns for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 by sharing development updates on Twitter.
Don't. We're making good progress and it's still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.

Insomniac breaking their silence on Marvel's Spider-Man sequel after long could mean that a new trailer is coming soon. Marvel Games didn't attempt to reveal anything related to Spider-Man during Comic-Cons or Disney D23 earlier.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer could probably show up in a future State of Play showcase later this year. Insomniac is also working on Marvel's Wolverine for PlayStation 5 and may show off these two games during a digital stream soon.
