A month ahead of release, upcoming action role-playing game Gotham Knights from developer WB Games Montréal and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment plotline got leaked via official art book and strategy guide on Reddit.
Originally planned to launch last year, Gotham Knights was delayed to deliver the best possible experience for players. They also cancelled last-gen versions to focus more on current-gen, yet there won't be performance options on console.
Fleur Marty, executive producer of Gotham Knights has recently shared an update over official Discord server, stating that newest co-op Batman game doesn't have a performance mode and console version will run at a maximum of 30 FPS.
Because of adding gameplay features like untethered co-op in highly detailed open-world, devs had to take such decision. Marty wrote that it's not as straightforward as lowering resolution to get higher FPS in performance mode for console.
Considering these reasons, WB Games decided not to have performance/quality toggle options and will only run at 30 FPS highest on consoles. WB also plans to include a 4-player co-op mode titled, "Heroic Assault" and it arrives post-launch.
Gotham Knights is scheduled to release for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 21, 2022. Earlier in May, WB Games announced to cancel PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game to focus on best possible experience for all.
