An acclaimed and beloved entry into mainline series, 2015 action role-playing game Fallout 4 by developer/publisher Bethesda Softworks was originally launched for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but has no upgrade for next-gen systems.
As part of their ongoing support, Bethesda has announced to release a free update for Fallout 4 across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It includes a few additional features and enhanced performance to offer much better experience.
In a recent blog post, Bethesda reveals that Fallout 4 free current-gen upgrade will be including a performance mode for high frame rates, quality features for gameplay in 4K resolution, bonus Creation Club content, bug fixe and a lot more.
An enhancement for Fallout 4 has previously enabled it to run at 30 frames per second in 4K on Xbox One X consoles. Xbox Series X/S could run the game with an increased 60 FPS using its FPS boost feature by dropping resolution to 1080p.
Hopefully, upcoming patch will allow players to enjoy playing Fallout 4 in both enhanced frame rates and resolutions. According to Bethesda official report, Fallout 4 sold over 12 million retail units worldwide, grossing $750 million in a day.
Fallout 5 is slated to be next Bethesda game following Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI release, which may take years to come. Meanwhile, Fallout 76 is offering a 25th Anniversary Bundle for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to get now.
