Inspiring a series of fantasy franchises throughout years, Dungeons & Dragons has successfully reflected classic tabletop experience to digital platforms in a number of video game series like Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity and a lot more.
Earlier last year, developer Tuque Games has delivered Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance for PC and consoles. Rebranded as Invoke Studios, a new Dungeons & Dragons game is revealed to be in development now, using Unreal Engine 5.
According to reports, Wizards of the Coast subsidiary Invoke Studios took on a big-budget AAA- Dungeons & Dragons game using UE5. Their upcoming project will be helmed by Dominic Guay, a Ubisoft veteran, who worked on Splinter Cell.
Served as a senior producer for Watch Dogs and its sequel, Guay is currently leading a team of 80 people that will expand to 200 by 2025. Although development is in early phase, studio has made this announcement to attract new talent.
Having largest and most popular brand of fantasy role-playing games, Dungeons & Dragons is a brand with 50 years of history. It inspires developers and offers vast creative freedom to create high-quality, AAA-games and Invoke is up for it.
Wizards of the Coast assigned Invoke as one of their major Montréal studios, concentrating on AAA-fantasy games. Besides, they are only one in Canada to work on new Dungeons & Dragons AAA-video game project with UE5, for Wizards.
