Currently scheduled to release next year across major platforms, dev team has yet to share any development update for Alan Wake 2. However, Remedy has recently revealed more on sequel to Alan Wake title and multiple Control sequels.
In a recent earnings briefing, Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Alan Wake 2 is already in full production phase now. User testing for upcoming sequel to Alan Wake is going very well and it will be major release for Remedy in 2023.
Remedy also talked about working on several Control sequels and other upcoming projects like free-to-play multiplayer game named Vanguard, Codename Condor and Heron, titles set within world of Control that are in early concept stage.
With launch of 2019 action-adventure game Control and its AWE expansion, Remedy made ties to Alan Wake shared universe, as protagonist Jesse Faden heads over to Bright Falls town from original Alan Wake to investigate an AWE event.
Alan Wake II being a survival horror game, Remedy Entertainment steps into a new genre but it will still focus on psychological thriller themes. Remedy is also working with Rockstar Games to develop remakes of first two Max Payne games.
