A number of insider report have claimed earlier that developer/publisher Ubisoft was working on a new Assassin's Creed game titled "Rift", which was originally an additional DLC expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that was scrapped.
Ahead of an official reveal, several image for upcoming Assassin's Creed game featuring Basim Ibn Ishaq were leaked. Today, Ubisoft has unveiled a first-look at Assassin's Creed Mirage via a new cinematic trailer at Ubisoft Forward event.

Newest reveal trailer shows how Basim is introduced to Assassin Brotherhood after his life was saved by a Hidden One. Soon he joins their ranks through ceremonial removal of his ring finger as he was trained by their principles and tactics.
AC Mirage will take place in ninth-century Baghdad during its Golden Age and features a young Basim who is a small-time thief. In favor of original action-adventure style, Mirage moves away from role-playing aspects of previous AC games.
Mirage is set 20 years before AC Valhalla when a 17-year-old Basim was saved by and inducted to the Creed. Seeing his potential, they took him to fortress of Alamut, helping him discover his true nature and work on his very unique abilities.
Basim will be voiced by actor Lee Majdoub (Sonic the Hedgehog, The Crossing) and his mentor Roshan is portrayed by (Arcane, The Expanse). Mirage has modernized gameplay elements like assassinations, parkour, stealth and much more.
Ubisoft Bordeaux has worked on Wrath of the Druids expansion for Valhalla and now in-charge of Mirage. Dev team believes Basim's early adventure as special tribute to first Assassin's Creed and is planning to release it sometime next year.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will release across Amazon Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023. PC version is exclusive to Epic Games and Ubisoft Store while members of Ubisoft+ service can play it day-one.
