Splatoon 3 Bans Cheaters on Consoles and Switch Online Ahead of Launch |
Despite having some issues regarding previous Splatoon game, fans are hoping to have a great experience with upcoming Nintendo Switch-exclusive third-person shooter game Splatoon 3 by developer/publisher Nintendo, launching soon.
Less than a week away from release, players are waiting to get their hands on Splatoon 3 demo to have an early trial. Meanwhile, some players are apparently getting banned on consoles and Nintendo Switch Online even before its release.
Nintendo is reportedly banning players on console and NSO for using modified version of long- awaited Switch shooter. They were simply trying to enter Splatoon 3 testing range a little early and ended up being banned shortly afterwards.
Considering players who attempted to use similar patches in past were detected by Splatoon 2 anti-cheat, it was a dumb move by cheaters. Switch Online ban blocks you from getting access to multiplayer titles on Nintendo Switch system.
Twitter user OatmealDome shared that Nintendo issuing bans to Splatoon 3 players on console and online.

Splatoon 3 has anti-cheat in place.
Nintendo is beginning to issue console bans (possibly total ban from NSO?) to players who modified the game.
I won’t be going into much detail about how it works, since anti-cheat relies on security through obscurity.
It's still not clear that how many cheaters received Nintendo Switch Online bans but seems like Nintendo is responding quite strictly. Though players' already finding ways to cheat raise a few concerns but NSO bans are tackling them down.
Splatoon 3 players breaking into test shooting area ahead of its official launch may seem like a minor offense but people shouldn't get encouraged to do so either and Nintendo is likely to do the same when they find bigger cheats in-game.
