In spite of having a niche audience, role-playing game franchise Persona by developer/publisher Atlus has a hardcore fan-base throughout the world, which only expanded following release of Persona 5 for PlayStation 3 and 4 back in 2016.
However, it took several years for Atlus to finally consider releasing Persona 3, 4 and 5 for other platforms as they confirmed it earlier. A recent survey result reveals that remakes of Persona 2 and 3 by Atlus are what fans want to play most.
Atlus has recently published results of a survey that shows fans are very eager to play Persona 2 and 3 remakes. Atlus Consumer Questionnaire ran back in May 2022 asks fans if they would like to play modern remakes of any past Atlus titles.
Among over 45,000 participants, over 78% chose both Persona 2 and Persona 3 as two of their most-anticipated remakes from Atlus. These two classics were closely seconded by Revelations: Persona and Persona 4 based on popular votes.
Persona 3 is very popular to both JRPG as well as series fans and therefore, people voting for it is not a surprise. Although its PlayStation Portable version will be ported to multiplatform soon, fans believe it should get a remaster or remake.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and Innocent Sin also deserves a modern-day remaster as many have also vouched for these titles. Atlus would be wise to take these survey results into serious consideration and start porting them very soon.
A few months back, Atlus survey hinted at Persona series could arrive soon on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles. In a surprise announcement at Xbox & Bethesda Showcase event, three fan- favorite Persona titles were confirmed by Atlus.
Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4: Golden and Persona 5: Royal are already announced for several ports in near future. Atlus will probably move forward with next series installments in the mean time while fans keep busy with previous classics.
