An alleged Rockstar Games' insider known as Tez2 has claimed on social media lately that both GTA IV and RDR1 remasters were planned by Rockstar earlier but they ended up scrapping that idea after GTA Remastered Trilogy failed poorly.
Rockstar reportedly had plans for remasters of GTA IV and RDR for a few years but feedback to GTA Trilogy has changed that. Despite facing a number of serious issues at launch, it reportedly sold over 10 million copies since last November.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition promised to add modern remasters of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas. However, codes found within game files suggest they are just highly-modified versions of GTA mobile.
Only days after release, GTA Remastered Trilogy was pulled from Rockstar Launcher to remove developer notes and unlicensed music. Rockstar had to apologize to fans amid serious backlash and promised a number of updates to fix issues.
Plans for GTA 4 and RDR remasters were being discussed for a while but Rockstar didn't green- lit them into full production. Rockstar was looking at GTA Trilogy initial sales to decide whether to go ahead with other remaster titles in future.
Rockstar Games confirms ongoing development of Grand Theft Auto VI earlier this year, which is expected to arrive before March 2024. Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption could be revived in future following release of GTA VI.
