For past few years, Japanese video game developer/publisher company Capcom made a record profit by selling a lot of their legacy titles while also crediting recently released Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil: Village for this success.
As shown at latest Capcom Showcase digital livestream, Village is finally getting a long-awaited story DLC, titled Shadows of Rose. Set in a third-person perspective, upcoming story experience will reportedly be a lot harder than base game.
According to industry leaker AestheticGamer, players can expect Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose DLC to be difficult than main story. Capcom will reduce the amount of ammunitions and healing items for people to find across the map.
It will automatically force players to be careful with their available resources and some may try to avoid enemies instead of combat. Item scarcity in Shadows of Rose is quite opposite to more action-heavy approach of Resident Evil: Village.
AestheticGamer shared a post regarding Shadows of Rose DLC by official Biohazard account on Twitter lately.
Capcom's claim is that "Daughters of Rose" RE8 DLC is much harder than the main game, in big part because ammo & healing items will be "extremely limited", to put an emphasis on struggling & choosing where to use your supplies. https://t.co/N1EHxp5jtO

Aside from a promised DLC story, Capcom also announced new contents for Mercenaries mode including new characters and maps. Shadows of Rose DLC is set to release on October 28, 2022, bundled with Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition.
Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose DLC will adapt to a third-person camera mode, much like new Gold Edition offering and Resident Evil 4. A wicked plotline and a likely return of enigmatic merchant Duke were also revealed by Capcom.
