Shortly after 2020 platform game Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time by developer Toys for Bob and publisher Activision was launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot game was teased last year.
Ahead of Microsoft's buyout of Activision/Blizzard, an endless running game was released last year for Android and iOS. According to insider reports, Toys for Bob are working on new Crash Bandicoot game that may get revealed soon.
In recent episode of Xbox Chaturdays podcast, guest Rand al Thor suggested that Toys for Bob are probably developing a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot game and likely to announce it soon at upcoming Xbox & Bethesda Showcase event.
Windows Central journalist Jez Corden also corroborated to these claims only moments later, asking where did Rand al Thor heard that. He then mentions that he wasn't supposed to leak that and thus, clearly hinting at its legitimacy.
Windows Central Gaming hosted recent episode of Xbox Chaturdays podcast, discussing new Crash game.
Corden added further by saying, it will be more like "four-player brawler", which aligns with a previous rumor of Wumpa League. None of these reports are not confirmed yet and fans are advised to take it with a grain of salt for now.
Crash Bandicoot originally debuted as a PlayStation-exclusive back in 1996 and now becomes a Microsoft icon after recent acquisition. Toys for Bob revived classic Crash games with release of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy back in 2017.
