Following several delays, Ubisoft decided to move Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake development to Montréal studio.

After being leaked before an official announcement at Ubisoft Forward 2020 event, a remake of 2003 action-adventure game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time by developer/publisher Ubisoft has already been delayed a number of times.
Earlier in March 2022, insider sources have claimed a new Prince of Persia game inspired by Ori and the Blind Forest is in works now. Today, Ubisoft announces to move Sands of Time Remake development to Ubisoft Montréal studio.
Sands of Time Remake was being developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune for years before they handed it over to Ubisoft Montréal, original studio behind Sands of Time trilogy as they plans to deliver the best experience for everyone.
Fans were very critical about visual style of Sands of Time Remake by Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune from very beginning. Even after delaying several times, Ubisoft had to let Montréal take it over, so they can finish the remake for release.

Although there is no official release window yet, Sands of Time Remake is likely to launch within this fiscal year that ends on March 2023. Ubisoft has thanked everyone for their support as they promises to share development updates.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was reveled back in September 2020 and even had a set release window of January 2021. However, Ubisoft ends up delaying launch to March 2021 only for indefinitely delaying it one more time.
