Gotham Knights May Have 4-Player Online Mode

Only days after a playtest leak on SteamDB, upcoming action role-playing game Gotham Knights by developer WB Games Montréal and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive announces to launch worldwide later this year, on October 25, 2022.

While fans are eagerly waiting for Gotham Knights to arrive across cross-gen platforms later this year, a latest leak suggests that up to four players will be able to group together and fight crime as Bat-Family members for online co-op mode.

WB Montréal previously confirmed that Gotham Knights will only feature two players for co-op play but a recent screenshot of Gotham Knights game on PlayStation Store suggests that it may add a four-player online multiplayer mode too.

However, in-game description for Gotham Knights still reads that players can either enjoy "solo-play or with one other hero". It could also mean that dev team will separately add a four-player online mode alongside its main story campaign.

PSN page listing for Gotham Knights also mentions of single-player and "4 network players" but there are no further details on what the latter means and it could be a mistake since they didn't even update the page with official release date.

Fans have expressed their wish to play all four heroes of Gotham Knights via online multiplayer and maybe they will have it after all. Despite claiming to support only a two-player co-op mode, WB Games may end up adding a 4-player mode.

Whether or not these speculations are accurate is likely to be revealed soon as Gotham Knights is teased for Summer Games Fest event earlier. Also, a recent listing on Taiwanese rating board suggests the game will only release for next-gen.

Gotham Knights takes inspiration from Batman: Arkham series and may have planned for a two-player co-op to maintain stealth gameplay elements but at the end of the day, Gotham City can be an interesting set-up for online co-op as well.
