An update on official website by developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment has accidentally leaked upcoming expansion for 2004 massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft ahead of a scheduled reveal event.
In a livestream today, Blizzard has unveiled a new trailer for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight DLC expansion pack. They also announced long-rumored WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic servers to launch at some point in late 2022.
Blizzard reveals a new cinematic trailer for Dragonflight, newest and ninth World of Warcraft expansion.
Dragonflight returns to Azeroth and introduce five different locations in mythical Dragon Isles, including a starter zone. First time in WoW history, a dragon/humanoid hybrid race Dracthyr is added that can join either Alliance or Horde.
Dracthyr can specialize as a healer or ranged attacker and will begin leveling in starting area of Dragon Isles. These draconic beings are able to switch between dragon and human forms but they are only tied to Evoker class exclusively.
Major characters like Alexstrasza, Ebonhorn, Kalecgos and Wrathion will make a long-awaited comeback to World of Warcraft lore. Players will have a level cap to 70, new dungeons, quests and raids linked to new areas and expansion.
Dragonflight will also introduce Dragon Riding, latest mount system that offers better features than regular flight. A number of UI updates will allow players more customization options with sign-up for alpha and beta will be live shortly.
A cinematic trailer for Wrath of the Lich King Classic announcement has also been revealed by Blizzard.
Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be available to players with an active subscription for World of Warcraft at no additional cost. Of course, Blizzard will bring a lot of improvements to classic 2008 expansion with a fan-favorite story-arc.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight takes you to the ancestral home of dragons and opens up with a much lighter tone than recent expansions. Blizzard has yet to announce a release date as well as several other gameplay details very soon.
