Just over a week ago, listing on official Xbox Store potentially leaked 2021 survival horror game Resident Evil: Village by developer/publisher Capcom may be heading to Xbox Game Pass soon, which was later denied by an Xbox executive.
Resident Evil Village clearly introduced a lot of new elements into franchise and some probably never made it to final game. A known Resident Evil leaker recently reveals that Capcom ended up cutting mermaid-like enemies from Village.
According to reputable leaker AestheticGamer AKA Dusk Golem, a lot of Moreau's swamp area was eventually trimmed. Capcom originally planned for many things that got left out on cutting room floor before Village was finally released.
RE: Village would let player explore four distinct territories within titular village location, which belonged to its four lords. An overly mutated Salvatore Moreau is one of them and is in charge of watery swamp pit only known as Reservoir.
AestheticGamer claims that Moreau's segment featured extra content during development but it was left out later on. Capcom had to cut it because it needed some restructuring but they had to move on due to budget and time restraints.
Instead of trying to rework Moreau's area, dev team decided to focus on Castle Dimitrescu and Heisenberg factory. Before it was trimmed, Moreau's stage was an open swamp area, allowing several paths and mermaid-like beings nearby.
Capcom leaker AestheticGamer shares how Moreau's are was different for Resident Evil: Village on Twitter.
(1/7) I was thinking about this, so going to talk about it. Moreau's area RE8 was trimmed a lot, I don't think I've actually sat down & fully explained what I knew about Moreau's swamp area pre it being trimmed, so I think I'll do so now.

These creatures would reportedly swim after seeing protagonist Ethan Winters, forcing him to finish them quickly. They will also be pretty lethal when in land, attacking with a screech to stun players or slow Ethan down for further attacks.
Other than stunning you, their screech attack would attract stalker-type enemy that resembled like a slimy Tyrant-like creature. Moreau's swamp was more like Resident Evil 7: End of Zoe DLC that required players to be in and out of water.
Stalker enemies would have a huge sack of acid around their neck and shoulders that they spew on you or use claws. Dusk Golem knew about a ritual-like sequence at swamp with some Lycans and Witches (Dimitriscu's daughter) to be near.
Moreau's Reservoir area was meant to be much extended and at one point, in-game merchant Duke even states that "there may be more than just him in those waters" but Capcom chose to focus somewhere else as it needed lots of work.
AestheticGamer also added that Lady Dimitriscu's daughters were the final version of Witches that players encounter. However, they have played a much different role in early development stages but didn't reveal any details about them.
Capcom reportedly have plans to release a story DLC expansion for Resident Evil: Village in 2021 but has yet to reveal a date. Players may come across some of these enemy characters in future when next Resident Evil game will be launched.
