Halo: Master Chief Collection Adds Flood Firefight Mode
343 Industries adds Flood Firefight mode, cross-play and more in latest update for Halo: Master Chief Collection.
Halo: Master Chief Collection Adds Flood Firefight Mode |
In an announcement last year, developer 343 Industries revealed their plans to move forward from seasonal updates for Halo: The Master Chief Collection following release of Season 8 but they never really abandoned MCC completely.
343 Industries intends to maintain Halo: MCC as a legacy project while keep fixing various bugs and improve overall experience. In a latest update, dev team is introducing fresh new content, features and even cross-play for select modes.
Next biggest update coming to MCC brings back a fan-favorite mode for Halo 3: ODST, adding Flood to Firefight. 343 have fixed a few issues with enemies and made a couple of networking improvements that will benefit Firefight players.
Energy Sword and Sentinel Beam will be available in ODST for the first time, will also allow you to spawn with these weapons in Fiesta Fight. New enemies like Elites and Flood are also mixed into lineup of wave for variants in matchmaking.
Many of these adjustments have also made it to Halo: Reach and allows you to trade weapons with Covenant allies in Firefight Versus. You can check out enemy locations in VISR map during Firefight matchmaking, as you wait and respawn.
Flood can occupy vehicles in Firefight missions, employ tactics and can even infect to resurrect ODSTs to fight against you. So, look out for "boons" like weapon racks full of assault and battle rifles to take these enemies down or to fend off.
Halo 3 and ODST Campaign Gets Cross-play |
Halo 3 and ODST campaigns now have cross-play enabled for players on PC and Xbox consoles to play together. Adjusted modding tools included more option to create custom game modes for Halo: Reach, Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 4.
Halo franchise has thrived on multiplayer and has contributed to the success of original Xbox in gaming market. Newest series entry, Halo Infinite is having a tough time keeping fans engaged due to lack of a co-operative multiplayer mode.
